“It should be a feisty encounter to close out the weekend’s sport with a typically extravagant super bowl halftime show being headlined by the superstar Barbadian singer, Rihanna.”
Well we weren’t wrong there - an unbelievably close Super Bowl ultimately edged by the Kansas City Chiefs, as predicted. With Scotland dissecting a weak Wales side chucked in on top, it was only a lazy first half performance from Man Utd that stopped us getting the clean sweep 3/3 for last week’s blog.

This week, an equally exciting few days of sport lie ahead, topped off with a midweek Premier League 1st vs. 2nd as Arsenal and Manchester City face off under the lights at the Emirates. Although I do think Man City come here with a strong chance, I think to place Arsenal, the home side, at near to 2/1 does not give them credit for their efforts this season. Arteta will have his side bang up for this contest and we must not forget they are the league leaders for a reason.
The Selection: Arsenal to beat Man City @ 2.96

After their derby victory on Monday night, Liverpool will feel a surge of energy travelling over to St. James Park against Newcastle. That stands to be the best fixture of the weekend, with Newcastle looking like a completely different side this year under Eddie Howe.
Elsewhere, an in-form Brentford side will host Crystal Palace, who haven’t managed to get a win in the league since 31st December against Bournemouth. Brentford, on the other hand, have managed to hold league leaders Arsenal to a 1-1 draw and picked up a 3-1 victory against Liverpool. They haven’t been beaten at home in the league since September (against Arsenal) and as such I think 1.91 strikes as a good price on them to win.
